The partner of a person who has committed suicide is significantly more likely to take their own life, researchers have found.
But men who had lost their partner to suicide were 46 times as likely to commit suicide themselves, three times the risk for women bereaved this way.
A spokeswoman for the Samaritans told the BBC News website: "Men find it more difficult to seek emotional help than women."

you think that men have a problem sharing their emotions to the point that they are willing to kill themselves?
I would think that it was because women can find a mate easier than a man, but that women would be more distraught - then again - men after marrying do become more dependant on the women to look after them so it may be a feeling of helplessness.
My dad was in his 70s when he lost my mom 3 years ago. He went through mourning, but found a friend of his and they married a year afterwards. yes, it was sudden, but as a family we would prefer to see him happy then live out the rest of his life miserable.
