Factis after the Oklahoma City Bombing - everyone and their mother was looking at trucks.

Now it is airports & airplanes.

Americans won't put up with what is needed for good security - as it is almost impossible to prevent everything and keep things moving.

People don't want to admit it, but there is a cost benefit thing here. You could avoid deaths on the highways by reducng the speed limit to 5 miles and hour. No one is going to do that.

The BEST thing that happened security wise, was that we will no longer sit on an Airplane while hijackers are taking over. We had always assumed it was best to cooperate. Now it is different. You'd have to be a real moron to get on a plane and try and hijack it now. Unless you had inside help - I doubt you could get a group of people on board very easily and crash it like before.

Could it be done? Of course, but there are plenty of other things that people can do if they are willing to kill themselves.

There are some very good FBI agents, as well as some real losers. We had a major intelligence breach - due to the FBIs holier than though attitude.

I think that terrorists on the scale of what we saw on 9/11 would attempt something totally different. We already know what the possibilities are, but we won't do anything about it until it has already happened.

Look what was done with such a small amount of anthrax. THAT was unexpected - not the anthrax, but how much more potent it was than believed. A group of 10 people with access to a good deal of this stuff would be a big, big problem.

Remember the 911 emergency phone call from the postal worker who thought he had anthrax (and was right)? He told the operator he thought he had it and the doctor had told him to take tylenol. He very well might be alive today if his doctor knew how to diagnose it and treat it. How many doctors can?

What about smallpox? If you think the scare over a few people that got anthrax - a non contagious "poison" wrecked havoc - was bad imagine a contagious disease on the scale of small pox.

Hopefully the FBI & DOJ will spend more money on prevention and intelligence - and less on curtains for statues and coverups.

They really can do a good job when they have competent people working the field.
