Not all area's of the USA have DSL or Cable.
I had DSL when I lived in the Bay Area... They didn't have Cable when I got DSL.... about a 1 1/2 later they had
Cable.
When I moved to Fresno.... No DSL were I live... but they have Cable.... And when I ask the Manager ( when
looking at the Apt. )
she didn't even know what DSL or Cable Modem's were..
She does now...
I was calling all these place's from Fresno to Sacramento...
and 95% of the managers had no ideal what I was asking..
DSL or Cable.... Oh yes we have cable... Do you have Cable Modem... what's that....
My friend bought a home in Rocklin... Told me got Cable Modem...
And that's what he was sold....
I checked his IP and it's Pacbell DSL.... He doesn't know nor does he give a flying fuck... all he knows it's alot
faster than what he had in Dublin, CA... 56k dialup...
I have another friend that lives in Manitica and until about 2 months ago all he could get was 28.6 on his dialup... Pacbell
They didn't offer DSL nor Cable until 2 months ago.
Most people have NO ideal... and are happy as hell to even be on the Internet... And if they have AOL...who's going to train them... Am telling you it will be a huge learning curve for most of them HUGE.
I do some online Tech. support.... and it can be out of this world what people will do..... and then tell you NO I didn't do that...
Sometimes am watching them run there computer, am dialed in to there computer and can see what they are typing in..... and they will still tell me NO I didn't do that.... I just say OK.... and tell'm what not to do and what to do very nicely..... belive it or not alot of time it's funny as hell....
