Platinumpimp, I'm with you. The GFY animal lovers came forward.
I didn't hear about Turf Kitty until today. I have a friend in the LA area who is known as the *cat lady.* She has 35 cats which live at her home. She takes them to the Vet, gets their shots, and finds homes for them. About the time the total number decreases, more homeless cats are dropped off on her doorstep.
Her Vet volunteers his time and money to give them medical care. She has never gotten donations from anyone. It can be a very expensive venture, but she loves animals.
As Dig pointed out, there are many wonderful animals at the shelters who need homes.
