The Yogya where an ancient Mongol cult, forced underground by the persecution of Genghis Khan. They re-emerged as a sect loosely based on Russian Orthodoxy, just in time for the Russian Revolution, when they were once again faced with persecution. Most of them died during the ensuing pogroms, but the heir to the throne escaped by floating down the Volga in a wickerwork basket, and kept the teachings alive in secret in Kathmandu, where he worked as pedicurist.
He was the founder of the TaoTe Poo (the way of the smelly feet), and died in poverty when all his parishioners were forced to wash their socks during the Chinese cultural revolution.
