Sure, America and other rich countries would have a vaccine in a couple months. It's the poor countries that would loose thousands/millions. The risk of such an epidemic is just as bad in undeveloped countries now as it was in the 60's.

Look at the countries that were sent the virus. How quickly do you think American vaccines would make it to Lebanon?
It wasn't the 60s when the last Flu pandemic occurred, it was 1918...BEFORE antibiotics. I realize that there is still a danger (of course), to third world countries, but very straightforward antibiotic would take care of this. Compare that to the strains of ebolla that are regularly sent to hundreds of research facilities around the world.... and that REALLY has no cure.
