- brainwashed killing machine? During the tiananmen massacre, soldiers in Beijing wouldn't shoot the protestors(both workers and students) even directly disobeying direct orders. They had to bring in units from the countryside who weren't locals to do the job. If you want to talk about brainwashed, we can use the US military or ANY military for that matter as an example. You are trained to follow orders and not disobey.

You seem to assume that the chinese people are just dieing to receive the american way of life and freedom. Let me tell u something, even though privatization has brought a growth in private industry, alot of people(especially workers in state factories) were happier back in the days when the state took care of everything aka (the iron rice bowl). They didn't need to worry about health insurance, housing, etc. Now they are out of a job with no medical coverage when the state factories go belly up. Do you really think these people care about democracy and so called freedoms?

If you took a look at china's nuclear arsenal, you would understand that it is weak against what the US has. Their nuclear subs are old and can't even travel that far. China is at a huge disadvantage and has alot of catching up to do to even become a nuclear threat. The only way they will dominate in the future is economically.
