I tell you, if only a few of you nominds could have lived during the 60's, you'd have an inkling of just how utterly huge the Beatles were back then. Even viewing the footage of their landing in the US for the first time shows it. Imagine a band where every song, every album they put out is groundbreaking industry-changing stuff.
Then view tons of taped interviews with other bands and performers of the time who cite the Fab Four as their main influence. THEN consider all the subsequent bands and performers from the 70's, 80's and onward who cited many of THOSE bands as their influence. If you can't see how one band (and of course Elvis) had such an incredible influence on what we listen to today then you're just not thinking straight.
Many people don't like the Beatles music, but love them or hate them only morons in denial will refuse to admit to the hugeness of the band. The huge influence that was and still is.
