Actually, a lot of buyers try this technique. It was more likely to work five years ago than it is today.
If you are genuinely interested in acquiring a particular domain, you should be careful not to send an offer so low that the seller doesn't consider you a serious buyer. Sending a lowball offer usually lets the seller know that you aren't really interested. Either that, or the seller realizes that the buyer just doesn?t know anything about domain names, but then the lowball offer would technically be just an uninformed, bad offer. (*Also, the
extreme lowball offer is used as a comedic technique on gfy.)
I have found that most of the serious buyers will express genuine interest with a first offer significant enough to let you know they are serious.
?Real? domain buyers truly shine and leave no doubt that they are serious.
