I rented doom 3, and played about 3-4 hours total and just got past the first boss. The game itself is pretty cool. I'm pretty impatient with gaming so I found myself getting lost in some of the levels because I just run through it and forget where I am. The monsters can jump out and startle you at times, which is cool. I played with headphones on and the lights in the room off, which gave me the best experience yet. The monsters are pretty easy to kill, because they give you a freaking shotty (in like the first level) which kills in 1-2 shots on every monster pretty much. I am a very avid halo 2 multiplayer person so playing doom 3 hasn't tested my skills yet, although the boss did take me 3 tries to kill. As far as multiplayer on doom 3, I haven't tried it, and I don't know if I even will because I was playing 4 person deathmatches on doom 2 ten years ago on a local multi-node bbs. It's 2005 FFS! Time to step it up ID!

Also, I'd like to mention, that doom has stayed true to its form. If you forget to save, you will pay dearly. Just like old times. Remember the old elevator-rooms you had to run into at the end of each level? they are still there. Really brings back some great memories of childhood gaming

Rating thus far: 9/10
Best xbox game since halo 2
