Amp: If the man was talking about a cocaine binge I could understand your point, but he is talking about weed. Sure it's a drug, but a casual user such as himself would hardly be considered an "addict" in my opinion.
But you are right, drugs get you nowhere. Though there is a world of difference between a casual smoker and a habitual user.
