I've been going there about 4 months out of the year since 1996. It's gone down hill a little since then but it's still a very cool country to hang out in.
I would first ask you WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?, and then I would give you some ideas. I have been literally all over Thailand several times from the remote mountains in the north, to the farm lands of Issan to the unstable Muslim areas in the south and every place in-between... I know a lot of cool places that most people don't go to if that's what your looking for.
May I also suggest going into Laos, Cambodia (Siem Reap - Ankor Wat) or Burma if your into culture and not just going for sport fucking. If sport fucking is what you want... You need to go right from the airport and go straight to Pattaya. It's a 2 hour taxi ride from BKK and the talent there is much higher than in BKK. Nana, Patpong and Soi Cowboy combined can not compare to Walking Street or the 1000's of beer bars in Pattaya. It must be seen to be believed...
