The sponsors I sell for from Australia all put the words NOT NEGOTIABLE on their checks. To a US bank this means that the checks are not cashable and serve as a receipt for things like a direct deposit. Also the back is very different from US, CA, UK, etc, in that there is no place to endorse the check.

Can AU sponsors start making checks that look slightly like everyone elses? I am tired of jumping through hoops to get them cashed...

I tried that too.. It never worked and I got docked the wire fees even though they never work.
