Ah yes, but at least Honda made a truck worth a dime. That thing is amazing. I went to look at one at my dealer and damn, what a fucking truck. I'd take the Honda over the Chevy any day.
Companies have been ripping off each other since day one. It's unavoidable. Look at all the compact cars out there now. They're all modelled after the Civic. Mazda, Nissa, Toyota and Chev all saw that they were losing sales to the Civic so they made cars that resemble it to get a fatter share of the market.
Look at all the station waggons from the early 80's. They all looked identicle whether it be from Chev, Dodge or Ford. I have to hand it to Dodge though, the new Magnum is pretty original. If it weren't for the fact that it's still just a Daimler/Chrysler product I'd get one.
Also, look at all the minivans out now. They all look exactly alike, Honda, Chev, Ford, Dodge, Nissan etc etc.
When something original does come along people don't know what to think. Look at the PT cruiser, it's ugly as sin, the new Beetle, ugly as fuck. Nobody wants original cars except those who want something different for the sake of being different. So a lot of manufacturers will be making vehicles that resemble each other.
