In both casess, it's the choice of the consumer to make the purchase and to consume the product. In both cases, it's the responsibility of the consumer to be sensible about what they're putting in their mouth. There's nothing particularly wrong with a big mac. If somene eats big macs in moderation ("used" properly and sensibly) and follows their dietry intake recommendation, they'll be fine. If someone uses vicodin properly and sensibly, they'll be fine. If some dickhead who has no need for vicodin decides to buy vicodin and ends up causing himself damage or even death, then that's his problem. Same as some fat fuck who carelessly eats 5 big macs a day.
Nobody's forcing anyone to buy Vicodin.

Abso-fucking-lutely.
How hard is it to grasp that inanimate objects don't kill.
People do.
Anyone thinking differently is insane, by definition, in believing that a lifeless object can cause death.
