This is business. Being friends or being nice doesn't have anything to do with it.
If you want to do business, you have to follow the rules. If you said money were going to arrive on April 1st, then I expect to have them on April 1st. Everything else doesn't matter to me.
If you fail to keep your word, you're a shitty businessman and I don't want to deal with you.
