Fully re-furbished studio appartment in managed complex with pool would cost around 800k Baht. A friend of mine has just purchased one.
I paid 1.5 million Baht for my 2 bed condo in 2003 and spent about 1 million on the re-ferb. Its now worth about 4.5 million Baht
You can legally own a condo in Thailand, houses are a little more complex and require a holding company - a change in the law could cause problems but I doubt the Thais would be dumb enough to let that happen.
