Sorry, don't get your logic: Because he's a good guy, he doesn't have to honor his contracts?
If he had come to me and said "I don't have the money" I would have said "I understand. I'm not thrilled, but I understand."
Instead and he jerked me around and around. I asked him point blank if he wanted to get out of the deal and he said 'no' and the merry-go-round continued.
If anything this public spanking will prevent him from doing this to anyone else. I gave him many opportunities to avoid just such a spanking.
Repeat: don't blame the victim. I tried to accommodate him, but he made a fool of me.
