We haven't had any hotlinked images on our site for well over a year. We offer the scripts to other site and a search engine for finding "fuskers" at these other sites. You may think this is worse, but the core code to display fusker is very simple and people have been doing it before fusker, do it now with other names, and will continue to do it. As also mentioned in other posts, all you have to do is add a couple lines to .htaccess to control who can link your content. And, quite frankly, it?s a little hard to hear diatribes about the evils of hotlinking at a site that has dozens of threads with hotlinked pics each day. The fusker!ne scripts, like dozens of other ?unbranded? scripts out there, just makes it easier. And, agin you may think this makes things worse, but fusker!ne lets webmasters make this more accountable with user registration, a ?ban? list, easy ways to contact the webmaster, and links to directly remove illegal content.

The adbrite drop did have something to do with putting it up for sale. However, we've already had a couple offers from other ad agencies who've promised not to be such pusses when it comes to pressure put on them. Many advertisers have bought direct ads on the site and on other fuskers because the ads do convert, and other webmasters have asked how they can UN-block their domains from fusker because showing logo?ed images was worth the bandwidth.

But in the end, ya'll win. Buy the site, the scripts, and do whatever the hell you want with it. We will NOT be competing with the new owners.
