Before anyone goes mental and says BUT [insert X religion here] has only done good, every religion has a past that if people bothered to research would make any sane person dismiss religion in a blink of an eye. How many people have actually bothered to read ALL the commandments, not just the oh so holy 10... have a quick read. ^^

Pre 20th century the Church also forced it's views upon you.. If you didn't obey the church then you were burnt at the stake or had your head chopped off. If you were lucky they would just chain you up in a dungeon for 10 or 20 years.
