A similar type of crime in the UK would probably see a max of 18 months to 2 years in jail, with a 50% reduction for good behaviour, so he would be out in 8 months to a year.

Let's be honest here. Whether the guy is innocent or guilty, the way this system has been setup, he doesn't stand a chance and is going to jail whether he did anything or not. How the hell the judge can allow evidence not connected in the slightest with this case is beyond the realms of reality!
If this fails the prosecution will probably be allowed to go back to Jackson's childhood and bring a battery charge for when he hit his brother over the head with a comic!

Watching this as a complete neutral, the whole thing reaks. I am pretty sure if this was taking place anywhere else but the USA, it would have been thrown out of court within a couple of days.

So how long do you think he will get?
