also, you need to KNOW the virus first..... alot of things depend on what the virus does. For instance, the Monkey B virus cannot be eliminated simply by formatting because it infects and rewrites the master boot record. You gotta nuke the system right down to the nuts and bolts. It's the only damn way to get rid of it. I once had to clean an entire office of Monkey B..... it took fucking forever.

So, before you do anything else.... identify exactly what's going on and what you have, and then know your virus.... read up on everything about it from McAfee or Norton.... and follow their recommendations on how to kill it. If it's in your MBR, you're fucked.
