Ive sold 2 from this particular batch last week at over $700 each. People will pay for a good name but if they know they're getting targetted type-in traffic they're usually happy to pay extra.
It just depends on what the aim is. At the end of the day, search engine listings are changing at all the time and you can't count on them. Type-ins can provide you with a consistent, daily stream of traffic that grows and you dont need to worry about how the SEs alter their algorithyms.
There are lots of benefits especially if theyre developed but usually type-in domains appeal only to experienced webmasters as they're usually the ones who've registered them in the past.
