The money has been gone for a LONG time...not sure if you geniuses are aware how much 24/7 medical care costs in the US...

The EASY way out for him would be to divorce her, marry his long term gf and let her be someone else's problem. His last and TRUE act of love has been to fight for what he believes she would have wanted.
