I am an avid fan of the 300D Rebel. (And as coincidence would have it, I too am in Canada).
And there is no point arguing which camera takes better shots..Canon Rebel or Nikon70D. Some people like the saturation better on the Canon..some on the Nikon. I obviously sway towards Canaon.
One advantage Canon has over Nikon...the Rebel lets you shoot at 100 ASA. Nikon, the lowest is 200 ASA. You won't notice a whole lot of difference in the noise...but might when you create much larger images.
The advantage Nikon has over the Canon...instant on. Canon takes about 3 seconds before the first shot can be taken. But once on, neither have any delay. And the Nikon is a bit better at shooting rapid frames.
But I have wandered off topic...both the Rebel and the 20D are nice pieces of equipment. I have a large number of photos listed on the stock photo site,
www.istockphoto.com...all of them taken with my Rebel 300D...most with the out-of-the-box lens and a cheaper 70 - 300mm Canon lens.(about 300 CDN).
If it's a question of money..go for the 300D.
Disclaimer..I do not shoot any studio photos..all of my stuff is mainstream "art shots" and commercial advertising images.
