I have a gay twink site -
www.britishtwinks.com - that is full of original content. It converts well (typically around 1:80) and the members seem to really like the look/feel of the site. It's amateurish but personal - not like the big sites. I get loads of good feedback, and members renew and renew. I still have some members that joined five years ago! Typically, they stay about six months, which I think is much better than the industry average.
The problem is I don't have enough traffic! I launched a ccbill affiliate program but I'm hardly getting any affiliates because nobody knows about it. I tried listing in the resource sites but that hasn't really helped. I can't afford banners on there (or here) or anything like that.
I tried google adwords but that didn't work out - most surfers didn't even wait for the first graphic to load, so I suspect they were bots.
I've bought gallery traffic and it converted great, but nobody has much to sell in the gay niche. I still don't have enough traffic to trade with the big programs, so getting promoted on exits is like getting blood out of a stone.
I really believe in my site and I know it will do well if I can get some traffic to it. But how? It's such a competitive industry and I don't have much money to invest.
What would you do in my position? Anyone in a helpful mood?
