Sure, if you're looking for a dedicated off road vehicle the H1's capabilities are far superior to the H2, there's no argument there. However, to say that the H2 is an embarrassment to the Hummer name is ridiculous. The H2 is simply a driver friendly version of the H1. Much more comfortable, less maintenance, better gas mileage, easier to drive and park, but still an excellent off road vehicle as well.

I spent quite a bit of time driving the "real" H1 in the Marine Corps and would never consider it as a daily use vehicle. It's just far too wide to fit in most parking spots, etc. The bottom line, the H2 offers the perfect compromise between excellent off-road capabilities and everyday driving practicality.
