She trusted her husband enough to marry him, then she trusts him enough with her life in his hand, and trusted him enough that he wouldn't lie about something so serious like her life. It is not our place to judge whether or not he is lying, it was her decision to love and marry him, and it should end there with his decision.
It's not about HIM, or her FAMILY. It's about HER and her wishes, which stated from the man she married, was not to live in that braindead or near braindead state.
bottom, line. there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. this is how the judges see it and they're right.
