Yes.
When you divorce the contract is ended and new ones are drafted.
Someone you marry should not be related to you anyways.
Parents do not come into play with this unless you have a written contract stating such.
Getting married makes your spouse your guardian unless you have a written contract stating otherwise.
Your marriage license also did not say what that whatever you tell your wife in private can not be held against you in a court of law, or that you will gain certain tax advantages, inheritance rights and so on.
In no way has the press mislead me.
