Now that you have me thinking... every "good" marriage I know of, the husband and wife both have their own hobbies and activities. They spend time out away from the house with friends or doing things that they like to do.

My grandparents are a perfect example. They have been married for over 50 years. My grandpa is a workaholic and is always helping family members build house additions or work on something, he also spends a lot of his time doing repairs and maintenance to the church and school of the parish that he belongs to. My grandpa is an artist and great homemaker, she enters a lot of competitions and wins quite a few ribbons. She spends a lot of time with my younger cousins and also donates her time to be the art teacher at the same school, she does the decorating and other miscellaneous tasks for the church as well.

I don't think I've ever seen them mad at each other. Little scuffles where my grandma gets aggravated about something, sure. But never any fights that last longer than 20 minutes.
