Owner of Big Korean Adult Site Arrested
SEOUL - More than 150 suspected South Korean swingers were being questioned by police on Wednesday for possibly violating pornography laws by posting naked pictures of themselves on a Web site for spouse swapping, police said.
Police in the southern port city of Pusan on Tuesday arrested the 37-year-old operator of what they believe was one of the biggest Web sites in South Korea for swingers on suspicion of violating pornography laws.
"There is no crime at all in swapping," a police officer in Pusan said by telephone, but a provision in the information network law makes it illegal to send or distribute obscene material over telecoms systems and other types of networks.
Police said those brought in for questioning are believed to have posted pictures and video clips of themselves engaged in sex and will be arrested if they are confirmed to be the people in the postings.
The police have evidence of more than 400 meetings between members on the Web site where they swapped partners or engaged in group sex, media reports said.
The Web site called "Bubu Plus" had attracted more than 5,000 fee-paying members over the past two years simply from word of mouth.
Members were graded according to their degree of participation, and about 450 of them had paid 120,000 won ($120) for life-time memberships, the reports said.
