Oh, I looked hard and long at Kaiser. But I wouldn't be able to go to any of my doctors and would have to pay out of network for any hospital w/in 50 miles of my house (and this was when I lived in the burbs).

The $1000 isn't in place for doctor visits, tests, prescriptions or ER visits. In 5 years, I haven't spent one penny towards the deductible and that's with 4 or so prescriptions a month, 2 doctor visits a year, ob/gyn once a year, mammograms. etc.

I had a huge spreadsheet looking at every possibility, about 8 different companies and a few professional organizations and for ME, BCBS was the best option
