Unfortunately the situation in the States won't change, so I can't judge the people who actually need to carry a gun because of the inherent danger associated with their business (like mobsters for example  ) For all others like me, I just prefer to keep out of situations where even a remote possibility of something ivolving guns is present. Again, unfortunately, in the US even this is no guarantee of one's safety, since some fucker can shoot you on the street for the 20 in your wallet.
Again, the gun situation in the US is majorly fucked, and that situation and culture is not going to change, which is pretty bad.

it's easy to change the situation in under two years. Make owning a handgun or being caught with one in your house a life imprisonment term and make knowing about someone who owns a handgun a 5 year jail term if they don't turn them in immediatly. 99.9 percent of all handguns will be gone in 2 years.
