I disagree, Saudi Arabia has far more "conservative values" than the US (why aren't they a superpower). It is the US's Liberal values that have allowed it to become the great nation it is.

Do I have to spell out everything for you...First of all; all that mechanic has is one vote, whereas someone with money (like say a Saudi Arabian Shiek) can easily influence the leader of the worlds only superpower (your good buddy BUSH), after people from his country commit the most atrocious terrorist act on US soil ever, to look the other way and attack a completely different nation.
Also, I could also have a far greater say in world affairs than that mechanic simply by using my $$$ to influence politicians/corporations/voters. To sum it up for you: its all about $$$$, not a simplistic voter(who can, in most cases be easily influenced by the people with the most $$$)
