The original concept was for the advertisers to build out their channel sections. I even told them they could resell ad space on their sections if they wanted to.
So that when a surfer clicked the Teen Channel they went to a whole section all themed with Teen links, pics, movies, etc.
I figured the original cost at only $3500 a channel which worked out to about $115 a day ad cost. I figured with 2,000 to 3,000 uniques to each of the channels they'd be good for 3 to 5 signups minimum if they did the full page layout like I suggested. Everyone got there traffic.
Nobody did that. I guess they figured just a tour would do and no work involved.
So hey you win some you lose some. I've certainly had ad campaigns that bombed in my many years.
