GFY is my pulse of what's going on around the net, both from a webmaster perspective and general BS.

I have an always on connection by the bed, if I wake up in the middle of the night I'm likely to check the forum. I drive a relative to work every morning so in my early up time I check out GFY along with news and e-mail.

When I'm doing tedious work and hit a monotony overload I'll check out GFY for a bit to break it up... laugh at a joke or debate an issue.

When I'm watching TV I often grab the keyboard during commercials and end up missing much of the rest of the show

Only on the occasions when family grabs the time I'm not working or I am away from home do I miss a day reading GFY. Now that there is automatic thread subscription I check my subscribed threads once or twice a day unless there is an active thread I am following.

I get a lot of good info from GFY. It's a matter of developing your BS skim filter here I try to return by helping with whatever questions I can and sharing interesting stuff that comes my way. I often get suspicious requests for links when I post "breaking news". My satellite setup picks up thousands of signals including reporters in the field so if I tell you a warrant is out for Michael Jackson or they captured Brian Nichols, just tune to your favorite news channel or check your favorite news site up to half an hour later If you ever see a breaking news report by me you can count on it and if you're annoyed by those who "report news" here I only do it because I have an advantage to give others a heads up who would like to tune in when mainstream coverage starts
