blogger.com has the advantage of being at the top on G's list to spider everyday. Also about everything gets backlinked so I think that is a pretty good advantage too (I've notice TypePad blogs get good SE rankings).
On the other hand I do agree with A&H, keep it in control and host everything yourself on your own domain. Having a dummy blog like blogger or typepad to link to it can help a bit
