The GTA (Toronto area) has over 3.5 million people. In any given year there are 50-75 homicides, gun-related or otherwise. Check out some stats on U.S. cities of a comparable size. Canada has gun control and if it weren't bordering a country that does not, there would be even less guns (as so many enter the country illegally from the U.S.)

Water and electricity do kill people, yes, but they kill people only where there is water and electricity. Guns only kill people where there are guns. And I think it's a fair statement to say that we need water to live - electricity of course is debatable.

I guess if you don't see any problem with children being killed by guns, even more so when it's by another child who presumably found it in his/her home, then there is no convincing you. I guess the only way you'll change your mind is if it happened to someone you know.
