I had one. Sold it. There are some ways to make it work. I guess since I am not in it anymore I can give you the skinny. The only way a dating site will be successful is if you already have profiles and real profiles. There is a company out there that will add your site to theirs and you will have 3+ million profiles in your site from day 1. The only drawback is you will need about $20K to make a go of it. They suck up 5k when they design your site and add you into thier program and I bet you'd spend another 15k promoting it. They pay all costs for hosting, maintenance, etc. All you to do is promote it. You get a portion (60%+) of the sign-ups you generate. SE PPC is expensive for keywords though.
