That's one of the problems with landmines, its a lay them and forget them weapon, over time maps of where landmines are laid are lost, not well mapped out in the first place, or not completely cleared out. Sick as it is, the Russians made anti-personnel mines in bright colors to invite kids to pick them up, and dispersed near schools.
