Okay, obviously some you kids here have never heard the expression "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" before. In case you haven't figured it out yet, it metaphorically means that it's so expensive that only people who don't need to care about money can comfortably afford it. This is closely related to "more money than brains" for obvious reasons... those with more money than brain are incapable of doing so anyways.
