Remember one thing. The president of the U.S. salary is for life. He gets that forever. Also, presidents like Bill Clinton went on a speaking tour and wrote a book where he made alot of money.

I think Clinton could charge 50,000 - 100,000 a pop to show up at a speaking engagment.
