As for the other advice that you gave....Yeah, I'd say that's reasonable but in today's solo girl market, the quality has been stepped up a notch and better equipment is almost a necessity if you plan to compete with the other sites out there.

For sure! I agree. It has been stepped up a ton actually. However, I do think he can get the quality needed to have a successful start with what I mentioned. My only motivation here was to let him know that the solo site market it one of the hardest to break into and make money at due to the HUGE number of site popping up these days. So, before he invest $5,000 - $8,000 into a good, pro starter system, spend $1500 on a system that works and get his feet wet. He could do very well with a nice Nikon 5700 ($695.00) three photo floods with stands ($175.00) and a 5' x 5' sunlight bounce reflector $125.00. Save the FujiS3 for his second million dollar a year site. ;)
