Also how often are you updating? The more often you can do an update, the faster you'll build up bookmarkers. Bookmarkers, i find at least, tend to come back pretty steadily. If there's new stuff only once a week, they'll stop coming. Daily is obviously best, but every second day isn't too bad either. It takes longer with hosted galleries, to pick through em, but it's worth it.
In my stats, my bookmarker productivity slowly drops down each day I don't update. So if it starts at like 300% on monday, if I don't update until Friday it's down to 120-150%. They're coming back to the site, but clicking much less. As soon as I update, it climbs right back up.
Disclaimer: I myself am mostly a gallery guy, my TGP is only ~30K a day, so consider that when you take my advice. I can tell you, with only one actual banner type ad, and mostly hosted galleries, I'm turning around 2K gross off my site on only 30K uniques per day. Not too shabby for an upstart.
