well generally it's important that you consume a lot of good carbs about an hour pre-workout... then immediately after you workout, consume approx. 25-35g protein and about 60/70g carbs... then another hour later have roughly the same values. although, i am assuming you're training with freeweights and wish to build muscle mass.
