I read a local article about this school. They are hard core right wingers and they believe that they are upholding the "virtues" of the students by not allowing the girls to wear thongs. If you get a chance to read some of the San Diego press, you will get a laugh. The school district has all kinds of rules about girls showing their stomaches, wearing short skirts, and all that. It's some extemist Christian movement to scare away satan or something.
