I would trust my friend's reaction- if he feels the situation warrants watching Spiderman, then I reckon I'd go join him and share the popcorn.

The laws in the USA would place this action squarely within destroying evidence, a somewhat heavy charge. Boneprone, you can't be held responsible for what's on someone else's computer, but tampering with it might prove very unwise.
