Actually i have`a true story something like this.

I was in a city in texas and eating dinner at a restaurant , when suddenly the air raid sirens went off. Nobody thought much of it , and kept on doing there thing. So near the end of dinner there alot of sirens and stuff going by on the road , and as we leave theres a checkpoint on the road and the cop tell us we cant leave the city and to go back and find a hotel to stay at. ( something about a gas leak at a refinery )

So the next day a guy knocks on our door of the hotel room and its a lawyer representing one of the big gas co's and he has a disclaimer form and a checkbook out.

Says sign the paper so they cant be sued and we get a couple grand each.

I was kind of groggy and didnt think it through, because i would have asked for double seeing as how he was so eager. But i never got sick and got some free money.

Turns out the gas release wasn't as bad as they thought and maybe didnt even blow in our direction , but they paid everyone off who was in town that day. It wasnt a big city but a few thousand people at least
