There is many flaws with this statement. For once I disagree with you.

This board grew out of an affiliate program. Lensman is always looking for new affiliates to push his program. If someone thats new already has to have a site then how does he learn to build the site?

How can he check if the program he's going to promote is legit or not without access to the board?

It's a double edged sword. But your analogy is to make sure everybody is an adult webmaster already. (that leaves no room for growth)

Many people here started out with free hosts and hanging out on these boards. Today those same people are leaders in the industry.

Yes it sucks having all the surfers lurking about and not being able to discuss real business without all the BS threads, but on the other hand a few of these surfers may be business minded and end up being Lensmans next top affiliate.
