I love the turn this convo has taken!

Rat, your sheer audacity is absolutely cracking me up here. Sorry ladies. hee hee. But Rat here makes a few valid points, one being that many men "in general" tend to value the poochie more than the intellect of women. If a woman get's "too dang uppity" those men tend to drop them cold and go find a woman that will shut up and screw.

But that's just "in general"...... not all men are geared that way. Some men choose to respect women as equals, but again, it's a choice, not a mandatory thing whatsoever. I try my best to respect people, but I don't particularly like seeing women being given jobs simply because they are female when there were better stronger male candidates, like for the job of fire-fighter or cops etc. Even in my former career as a health care worker, there were women that held the same job as me on other wards too, but they would continually call me for assistance when lifting certain heavy patients, yet the males on the job were able to work alone. The women demanded and got "equal pay for equal work"... yet they aren't really doing equal work now are they? No, they aren't at all.

So there is some unfair shit going on on both sides I'd say. But basically Lab is right, when he says that 200 years ago women had very little in the way of rights, and what has been given to date has been just that... "given". However, there have been some pretty noteable women in the past 200 years that have certainly helped to further the cause of women's rights, no one can deny that.
